Chef s Secret for Meats

Become an instant gourmet by Heating Balaton Preserves and serving over cooked chicken, turkey, or London broil.A slightly easier variation is to heat preserves with already-prepared stir fry strips from the frozen food section.
Crockpot Option:Rinse off a whole frying chicken.Cook in a crockpot--covered--on LOW for 7--8 hours.Heat with Preserves as above.


PUNCH BOWL CAKE

This is very showy! It looks involved, but is not difficult to make. Always a hit!

1 box yellow cake mix
2 jars Balaton Pastry Filling
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained
1--3 oz. Box Vanilla Instant Pudding
1--8 oz. Container Frozen Whipped Topping, thawed in refrigerator
2 Bananas (soak slices in lemon juice to keep from darkening)
Pecan halves (optional)

Directions:
Bake cake and allow to cool. Prepare pudding mix as directed on package, then mix with whipped topping.
In a large glass punch bowl, layer ingredients, using approximately 1/3 of total ingredients for the bottom layer, and 2/3 for the second layer: Cake, broken in large pieces (2 inch cubes), pudding/whipped topping mixture, Balaton Pastry Filling, pineapple, banana slices and pecans (if desired). Repeat for second layer. Optional: May save out a dollop of whipped topping for garnish.

Easy Crumb-Topped Balaton Cherry Pie

Appreciation, Appreciation, Appreciation--from the uncomplicated preparation to the final compliment! Simply fill a deep-dish frozen piecrust with 2 jars Balaton Pastry Filling [or Balaton Pastry Filling--Almond Cinnamon Recipe] and finely chop half of another frozen piecrust with cinnamon sugar and sprinkle over filling.Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, then at 375 degrees for 20 to 35 minutes.
Option--To give the pie a homemade look: Lay cut edges from first piecrust over edges of second crust.When thawed enough to work, make a fluted edge out of this double thickness of crust.


Balaton Cherry Pie--Crumb Topping

Slight variation of the proceeding Easy Crumb-Topped pie recipe. Um-um good!Fill one frozen deep-dish piecrust with 2 jars Balaton Pastry Filling [or Balaton Pastry Filling--Almond Cinnamon Recipe] and top with a mixture of 3/4 c. flour, 1/2 c. sugar, and 1/3 c. butter.Bake at 425 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, or until filling is bubbly.


Balaton Cherry Swirl Bundt Cake

Expect a swirl of rave reviews!Beat a pound cake mix with 3/4 cup water, 2 tsp. almond extract and
2 eggs.Mix about 1 cup of the batter with a jar of Balaton Butter and set aside. Pour most of the batter into an oiled and floured Bundt pan. Spread with Balaton Butter mixture, then rest of batter.Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 48 minutes.
